A Bill for
An Act to amend the Metropolitan Region Scheme to change the
reservation of certain land in the Beeliar wetlands and for related
purposes.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1 1. Short title
2 This is the Metropolitan Region Scheme (Beeliar Wetlands)
3 Act 2018.
4 2. Commencement
5 This Act comes into operation as follows --
6 (a) sections 1 and 2 -- on the day on which this Act
7 receives the Royal Assent;
8 (b) the rest of the Act -- on the day after that day.
9 3. Terms used
10 (1) In this Act --
11 Metropolitan Region Scheme has the meaning given in the
12 Planning Act section 4(1);
13 Plan means Plan Number 4.1651 held at the office of the
14 Western Australian Planning Commission (established by the
15 Planning Act section 7(1));
16 Planning Act means the Planning and Development Act 2005.
17 (2) An indicative depiction of the Plan is in Schedule 1.
18 4. Metropolitan Region Scheme amended
19 (1) The Metropolitan Region Scheme is amended by reserving the
20 land shaded dark green on the Plan as "Parks and Recreation".
21 (2) The Metropolitan Region Scheme is amended by zoning the
22 land shaded red brown on the Plan as "Urban".
23 5. Effect of amendments
24 (1) The amendments effected by section 4 have effect as though the
25 amendments were enacted under the Planning Act.

1 (2) Nothing in this Act affects the operation of the Planning Act
2 with respect to amendments to the Metropolitan Region Scheme
3 as amended by this Act.
