A Bill for
An Act to amend the Road Safety Council Act 2002.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1 1. Short title
2 This is the Road Safety Council Amendment (Functions)
3 Act 2010.
4 2. Commencement
5 This Act comes into operation as follows --
6 (a) sections 1 and 2 -- on the day on which this Act
7 receives the Royal Assent;
8 (b) the rest of the Act -- on a day fixed by proclamation.
9 3. Act amended
10 This Act amends the Road Safety Council Act 2002.
11 4. Section 5 amended
12 In section 5(a):
13 (a) after subparagraph (ii) insert:

15 (iii) to provide counselling, advice and
16 related kinds of support to --
17 (I) people injured as the result of
18 incidents occurring on roads in
19 the State; and
20 (II) the members of the families of,
21 and others closely associated
22 with, people killed or injured as
23 the result of incidents occurring
24 on roads in the State; and
25 (III) people whose work involves
26 attending, or who are otherwise
27 present at, incidents occurring
28 on roads in the State in which
29 people are killed or injured;

1 (iv) without limiting subparagraph (i), to
2 promote, for the purposes of improving
3 the safety of roads in the State, public
4 awareness of the consequences of
5 incidents occurring on those roads in
6 which people are killed or injured;

8 (b) after subparagraph (ii) insert:

12 (c) after each of paragraphs (a) to (d) insert:
