ANIMAL WELFARE ACT 2002 - SECT 22

22 .         Defence — authorised by law

                It is a defence to a charge under section 19(1) for a person to prove that the person —

            (a)         was authorised by or under a written law to do the act that is alleged to constitute the offence; and

            (b)         did the act in a humane manner.
