(1) The regulations
may designate as a special permit authority a legal entity or a group of legal
entities that —
(a) are
established under a written law for a public purpose; and
(b) have
the capacity and resources to perform the functions of a special permit
authority under this Act.
(2) The regulations
are to specify —
(a) each
area in which, and the kinds of buildings or incidental structures in that
area for which, the special permit authority is to be the permit authority; or
(b) the
kinds of buildings or incidental structures for which the special permit
authority is to be the permit authority.
(3) The regulations
may revoke the designation of a legal entity or a group of legal entities as a
special permit authority.
