(1) The authorising
officer must periodically review each formal authority granted by the
authorising officer or a delegate of the authorising officer under this Part.
(2) A review of a
formal authority under this section is to be conducted at least once every 12
months.
(3) The purpose of a
review is to determine whether use of the assumed identity under the formal
authority is still necessary.
(4) If the authorising
officer is satisfied on a review that use of the assumed identity under the
formal authority is no longer necessary, he or she must cancel the authority
under section 52.
(5) If the authorising
officer is satisfied on a review that use of the assumed identity under the
formal authority is still necessary, he or she must record his or her opinion,
and the reasons for it, in writing.
