(1) This section
applies if the authorising officer for a law enforcement agency grants an
authority under section 48 authorising a request under this section.
(2) The chief officer
of the law enforcement agency may request the chief officer (however
described) of an issuing agency of a participating jurisdiction stated in the
authority to —
(a)
produce evidence of the assumed identity in accordance with the authority; and
(b) give
evidence of the assumed identity to the authorised person named in the
authority or another person specified by the chief officer making the request;
and
(c)
create or alter such other records as the chief officer of the issuing agency
thinks necessary to support the evidence of the assumed identity produced in
response to the request.
(3) The request must
state a reasonable period for compliance with the request.
