(1) In this section
—
cancel includes delete or alter an entry in a
record of information.
(2) This section
applies if the chief officer of an issuing agency (the issuing chief officer )
who has produced evidence in response to a request under section 70 is
directed in writing to cancel the evidence by the chief officer (however
described) of the relevant law enforcement agency of the participating
jurisdiction.
(3) The issuing chief
officer must, within any reasonable period stated in the request, cancel
—
(a) the
evidence; and
(b) any
other records or alterations made to support that evidence.
