(1) The protection
provisions (journalists) do not apply in relation to a proceeding the hearing
of which began before the commencement of those provisions.
(2) The protection
provisions (journalists) apply in relation to information given by an
informant whether given before or after the commencement of those provisions.
(3) The protection
provisions (journalists) apply to a person acting judicially in any proceeding
even if the law by which the person has authority to hear, receive, and
examine evidence provides that this Act does not apply to the proceeding.
(4) The protection
provisions (journalists) are not intended to exclude or limit the operation of
section 5 or the power that a person acting judicially has under any other law
of the State to take any action if it is in the interests of justice to do so.
