(1) An inspector or,
in the case of an alleged infringement notice offence in respect of which a
prosecution may be instituted by a police officer without the consent of the
CEO, a police officer who has reason to believe that a person has committed an
infringement notice offence may give an infringement notice to the alleged
offender.
(2) An infringement
notice may be served personally or by registered post.
(3) The infringement
notice must be served within 12 months after the day on which the alleged
infringement notice offence is believed to have been committed.
