The Commissioner of
Police shall issue all such orders, and give all such directions, to members
of the Police Force as may, in his opinion, be necessary or expedient to
—
(a)
prevent gambling contravening the provisions of this Act or any other Act or
law; and
(b)
ensure the proper and lawful exercise of the following —
(i)
a permit granted under this Act;
(ii)
a permit or licence granted by the Commission under any
other Act;
(iii)
a wagering licence as defined in the Betting Control Act
1954 section 4(1);
and
(c)
secure the lawful and orderly conduct of approved premises and permitted
gaming and ensure the good behaviour of persons present on those premises or
participating in or present at permitted gaming; and
(d)
whether in accordance with any request made under section 18(4) or otherwise,
provide for the making of such reports to, and the bringing of such
applications, complaints and objections before, the Commission as may be
necessary or expedient for the proper administration of this Act.
