(1) Every local
government shall keep a register in which shall be entered the names and
residences of the keepers of all lodging-houses within its district, and the
situation of every such house, and the number of persons authorised by the
local government to be received therein.
(2) A copy of any
entry in the register certified by the chief executive officer of the local
government shall be received as evidence in all courts, and shall be
sufficient proof of the matter registered without production of the register
or of any document or thing on which the entry is founded.
(3) A certified copy
of any such entry shall be supplied by the chief executive officer to any
person applying at a reasonable time for the same, on payment of the
prescribed fee.
