(1) Every local
government may subsidise any district nursing system or infant health centre
and may contribute money for the establishment and carrying out of a scheme
for providing, for any period, nursing aid and or domestic help in the home of
any person who is sick, diseased, convalescent or physically incapacitated.
(2) Every local
government —
(a) may
provide, establish and maintain; and
(b) may
grant financial aid towards the establishment and maintenance of;
any scheme or any
institution or centre, whether residential or otherwise, for the care,
recreation, comfort and convenience of the aged.
