(1) Any regulations or
local laws made under this Act may adopt wholly or partly (or varied as
specified in the regulation or local law) a code published under subsection
(2) or any of the standards, rules, codes or other provisions of Standards
Australia, or other Australian and international bodies of well established
high repute, as in force at the time of adoption or as amended from time to
time.
(2) The CEO or the
Chief Health Officer may cause to be published, and amended from time to time,
a code of practice in respect of any matter or thing relating to the public
health of the people of Western Australia.
(3) If any standard,
rule, code or other provision is adopted under subsection (1), the relevant
local government (in the case of adoption by a local law) or the Chief Health
Officer (in the case of adoption by any regulations) must ensure that a copy
of the standard, rule, code or other provision (as amended, if applicable) is
available for public inspection, without charge, during normal office hours at
a place prescribed by regulation.
