Where any land or
premises are unoccupied and any expenses incurred by the local government in
respect of such land or premises under the provisions of this Act have been
unpaid for 3 years, the local government may take possession of such land or
premises and may hold the same as against any person interested therein; and
all the provisions of the Local Government Act 1995 enforceable by the local
government for the recovery of rates by the letting or sale of the land shall
apply and be deemed to be incorporated with this Act, and the powers and
duties thereby conferred and imposed may be exercised and shall be observed by
the local government accordingly.
