(1) Within one month
after the last publication of any such notice in the Gazette any corporation
or person having any property or interest in the area the subject of the
scheme, which is likely to be injuriously affected by the proposed works, may
forward to the Minister a petition to the Governor to refuse the application,
or to amend or alter the plan thereof, or to make such other order in
reference thereto as the petitioner may claim.
(2) Every execution of
a petition other than by the common seal of a local government shall be
verified by the statutory declaration of some person signing the petition, and
no petition shall be received by the Minister unless the same is accompanied
by such declaration.
