(1) If an order
abolishing a district is made so as to take effect on a day other than the day
on which that order is published in the Gazette , the Governor may, by order,
declare all the offices of members of the council to be vacant.
(2) A declaration
under this section —
(a) has
no effect if it is made more than 2 years before the date on which the
district is to be abolished; and
(b)
takes effect from the time specified in it.
(3) When a declaration
has been made under this section the Governor may, by order, appoint a person
as commissioner of the local government until the district is abolished.
