(1) An order
suspending a council, other than an order made under section 8.15C(2), has
effect for the period, not exceeding 2 years, specified in the order or, if no
period is so specified, for the period of 2 years from when the order was
made.
(2) An order
suspending a council, other than an order made under section 8.15C(2), ceases
to have effect when —
(a) the
period of suspension expires; or
(b) the
council is dismissed under Division 2; or
(c) the
council is reinstated by the Minister under subsection (3) or
section 8.24(4)(a),
whichever happens
soonest.
(3) The Minister may
by order, if the Minister thinks fit, reinstate a suspended council with
effect from the time specified in the order.
