(1) In proceedings in
which a document that was given to a person who is a party to the proceedings
has to be proved, the person against whom it is sought to prove the document
is to be regarded as having received notice to produce it.
(2) Evidence of the
contents of the document may be given by tendering what purports to be a copy
of it, bearing what purports to be a certificate of the person who it is
claimed was the author of the document stating that the copy is a true copy of
the original.
(3) Evidence of the
giving of the document may be given by tendering what purports to be a
certificate of the person who gave the document stating where, when, and how,
the document was given.
