(1) In this section
—
authorised land officer has the same meaning as in
the Land Administration Act 1997 ;
Authority means the Western Australian Land
Information Authority established by the Land Information Authority Act 2006
section 5;
judicial proceedings means proceedings in any
court or before any person having by law or the consent of parties authority
to hear, receive and examine evidence.
(2) For the purposes
of this Act a description of land may be made by reference to a plan or
diagram relating to the land that is deposited with the Authority and
certified under the hand of an authorised land officer.
(3) A plan or diagram
referred to in subsection (2) is to be open to public inspection on payment of
the fee, if any, prescribed under the Transfer of Land Act 1893 .
(4) In judicial
proceedings a document certified under the hand of an authorised land officer
to be a copy of all or part of an original plan or diagram deposited with the
Authority is admissible in evidence for any purpose for which the original
would be admissible, and is to be given the same weight as if it were the
original.
