1. By this commission
issued under the Public Seal of the State, I, the Governor, acting under the
Magistrates Court Act 2004 Schedule 1 clause 3 and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council and reposing full trust and confidence in your
loyalty, learning, integrity and ability, appoint you as a magistrate of the
Magistrates Court as from and including [ date ].
2. The office of
magistrate is a judicial office with administrative functions. You are to
assist in and promote the administration of justice and the maintenance of
peace, order and good government in the State.
3. You shall hold the
office of magistrate with all the rights, powers, privileges, advantages and
jurisdiction that apply to it during good behaviour and subject to the
Magistrates Court Act 2004 as amended from time to time.
