(1) For the purposes
of this Act, an adult is presumed to have the capacity to make a decision
about a matter relating to himself or herself unless the adult is shown not to
have that capacity.
(2) For the purposes
of this Act, if an adult does not have the capacity to make a decision about a
matter relating to himself or herself, the person who is authorised by law to
do so may make the decision on the adult’s behalf.
