A person cannot be
asked to make a treatment decision about the provision of treatment to a
patient unless the person is given —
(a)
sufficient time to consider the matters involved in the treatment decision;
and
(b) a
reasonable opportunity to discuss those matters with the health professional
who is proposing the provision of the treatment; and
(c) a
reasonable opportunity to obtain any other advice or assistance in relation to
the treatment decision that the person wishes.
