(1) The Minister must
cause a copy of a report referred to in section 488 to be laid before each
House of Parliament, or dealt with under subsection (2), on or within 21 days
after the day on which the Minister receives the report.
(2) The Minister must
transmit a copy of the report to the Clerk of a House of Parliament if —
(a) at
the beginning of the 21-day period referred to in subsection (1), the House is
not sitting; and
(b) in
the Minister’s opinion, the House will not sit during that period.
(3) A copy of a report
transmitted under subsection (2) to the Clerk of a House is taken to have been
laid before that House.
(4) The laying of a
copy of a report that is taken to have occurred under subsection (3) must be
recorded in the Minutes, or Votes and Proceedings, of the House on the first
sitting day of the House after the receipt of the copy by the Clerk.
