Despite the repeal of
the 1996 Act —
(a) the
person who, immediately before commencement day, held office as the Head of
the Council of Official Visitors must make a report under section 192(3) of
that Act for the period beginning on 1 July before commencement day and ending
on the day before commencement day; and
(b) that
person continues to hold office, and is entitled to receive from the Chief
Mental Health Advocate such assistance as that person reasonably requires, for
the purpose of making the report; and
(c) the
Minister must cause a copy of the report to be laid before each House of
Parliament under the 1996 Act section 192(4).
