OFFSHORE MINERALS ACT 2003 - SECT 278

278 .         Matters to be specified in the licence

        (1)         The licence must specify —

            (a)         the blocks covered by the licence; and

            (b)         the activities authorised by the licence; and

            (c)         the area in which the activities are to be carried out; and

            (d)         the term of the licence; and

            (e)         the licence conditions.

        Note:

                Under section 38A(3) and (5) the consent of the Minister is required to the carrying out of offshore exploration or mining activities in a marine nature reserve, marine park or marine management area. Section 38A(7) and (8) also contain provisions about the disturbance of certain parts of marine nature reserves and restricted areas.

        (2)         The term specified under subsection (1)(d) is not to exceed 5 years.
