Every officer —
(a)
shall comply with —
(i)
this Act and all regulations, rules and standing orders
made under this Act; and
(ii)
any other written law conferring functions on officers;
and
(iii)
the orders and directions of the chief executive officer;
and
(b) has
a responsibility to maintain the security of the prison where he is carrying
out his duties and shall report to the superintendent every matter coming to
his notice which may jeopardise the security of the prison or the welfare or
safe custody of prisoners; and
(c)
shall make such returns and reports to the chief executive officer as the
chief executive officer may from time to time direct; and
(d)
shall make any records relating to any prisoner available upon request of the
chief executive officer to the chief executive officer or the superintendent.
