(1) A person must not,
in compliance or purported compliance with a direction under section 18 or any
other requirement under this Act, do any of the things set out in subsection
(2).
Penalty: a fine of $20 000.
(2) The things to
which subsection (1) applies are —
(a)
making a statement that the person knows is false or misleading in a material
particular; or
(b)
making a statement that is false or misleading in a material particular, with
reckless disregard as to whether or not the statement is false or misleading
in a material particular; or
(c)
providing, or causing to be provided, information that the person knows is
false or misleading in a material particular; or
(d)
providing, or causing to be provided, information that is false or misleading
in a material particular, with reckless disregard as to whether or not the
information is false or misleading in a material particular.
