(1) A designation
under section 11 —
(a) must
be made by notice published in the Gazette ; and
(b) must
specify the term of the designation, which cannot exceed 5 years.
(2) Subsection (1)(b)
does not prevent a person from serving as Chief Health Officer more than once.
(3) The Chief Health
Officer is entitled to the remuneration determined by the Salaries and
Allowances Tribunal under the Salaries and Allowances Act 1975 .
(4) For the purposes
of the Salaries and Allowances Act 1975 and any other written law, the office
of Chief Health Officer is to be taken to be prescribed under section 6(1)(e)
of that Act for the purposes of section 6 of that Act.
