(1) An authorised
officer may exercise the power in section 133, 134 or 135 in relation to
another person only if —
(a) the
authorised officer —
(i)
first produces evidence of his or her designation as an
authorised officer; or
(ii)
has evidence of his or her designation as an authorised
officer displayed so that it is clearly visible to the other person;
and
(b) the
authorised officer first explains to the person that the required information
is needed to attempt to prevent or minimise the spread of the notifiable
infectious disease.
(2) However, if for
any reason it is not practicable for an authorised officer to comply with a
requirement specified in subsection (1) before exercising the power, the
authorised officer must comply with that requirement as soon as it is
practicable.
