(1) This section
applies if, on the trial of a person charged with an offence under a provision
in Column 1 of the Table, the court —
(a) is
not satisfied that the person committed the offence; but
(b) is
satisfied that the person committed an offence under a provision opposite that
provision in Column 2 of the Table (a corresponding provision ).
(2) In that case, the
court may find the person not guilty of the offence charged but guilty of an
offence under the corresponding provision, and the person is liable to be
punished accordingly.
