(1) Subject to
subsections (2) and (3) the writ for a referendum shall be in the prescribed
form and shall fix —
(a) the
day for the taking of the votes of the electors; and
(b) the
day for the return of the writ.
(2) The day fixed
pursuant to subsection (1)(a) shall be a Saturday other than Easter Saturday
or the Saturday immediately preceding or succeeding Easter Saturday.
(3) Subsection (1)(a)
does not apply to the writ where the day for the taking of the votes of the
electors is fixed by or under the Act by which the referendum is authorised or
required.
