(1) The chief
executive officer may, by notice in writing require any person within such
period as is specified in the notice, to furnish such information as the chief
executive officer requires for the purpose of inquiring into or ascertaining
whether that person is complying with the provisions of this Act or any permit
or certificate issued under this Act or as to the terms of any partnership or
memorandum of association or articles of a body corporate and may require that
person to produce all books and other papers whatsoever in that person’s
custody or under that person’s control relating thereto within the time
specified in the notice.
(2) A person who fails
to comply with a request by the chief executive officer made under subsection
(1) commits an offence.
Penalty: $5 000.
