(1) The Court of
Appeal may give a guideline judgment containing guidelines to be taken into
account by courts sentencing offenders.
(2) A guideline
judgment may be given in any proceeding considered appropriate by the court
giving it, and whether or not it is necessary for the purpose of determining
the proceeding.
(3) A guideline
judgment may be reviewed, varied or revoked in a subsequent guideline
judgment.
