(1) A person must not,
in relation to an application for the issue or renewal of a licence, give
information orally or in writing that the person knows to be —
(a)
false or misleading in a material particular; or
(b)
likely to deceive in a material way.
Penalty: a fine of $15 000.
(2) Subsection (1)
extends to the giving of information to a person who witnesses an
applicant’s signature as mentioned in sections 46(2) and 49(2).
