(1) The principal of a
government school may from time to time determine the items that are to be
supplied by a student for the student’s personal use in the
school’s educational programme.
(2) If the school has
a Council a determination under subsection (1) does not have effect unless it
has been approved by the Council.
(3) All items to be
supplied by a student for a school year must be determined under subsection
(1) and approved under subsection (2) not later than 2 months before the
beginning of the school year.
(4) If a particular
student is to supply any item under this section, the principal is to take
reasonable steps to notify —
(a) a
parent of the student; or
(b) in
the case of a student who has turned 18 or who is a prescribed child, the
student,
of each item to be
supplied not later than 2 months before the beginning of the school year.
