Any owner, charterer,
master, or agent of a ship who —
(a)
inserts in any bill of lading or document any clause, covenant, or agreement
declared by this Act to be illegal; or
(b)
makes, signs, or executes any bill of lading or document containing any
clause, covenant, or agreement declared by this Act to be illegal,
shall be guilty of an
offence, and liable, on summary conviction, to a penalty of not exceeding
$200.
