(1) On application
under section 178, a JP may issue an entry warrant if satisfied that it is
necessary for the authorised officer to enter premises for purposes referred
to in section 168.
(2) An entry warrant
must contain the following information —
(a) the
applicant’s full name and authorisation;
(b) a
reasonably particular description of the premises to which it relates;
(c) a
reasonably particular description of the purposes for which entry is required;
(d) if a
contravention of this Act is suspected — the provision concerned;
(e) the
period during which it may be executed, which must not be longer than 30 days;
(f) the
name of the JP who issued it;
(g) the
date and time when it was issued.
(3) An entry warrant
must be in the prescribed form.
(4) If a JP refuses to
issue an entry warrant, the JP must record on the application the fact of, the
date and time of, and the reasons for, the refusal.
