(1) In this section
—
commencement day means the day on which Part 6
comes into operation.
(2) Subject to
subsection (3), a person who is the holder of a taxi-car licence under the
Transport Co-ordination Act 1966 Part IIIB immediately before commencement day
is taken on and from commencement day to be the holder of an on-demand rank or
hail vehicle authorisation for the vehicle for the remainder of the term for
which the licence was issued.
(3) If a taxi-car
licence under the Transport Co-ordination Act 1966 Part IIIB was suspended
immediately before commencement day, the holder of the taxi-car licence is not
to be taken to be the holder of an on-demand rank or hail vehicle
authorisation for the vehicle —
(a)
during the remaining period for which the licence was suspended; or
(b) if
the remainder of the term for which the licence was issued expires during the
period referred to in paragraph (a).
(4) An on-demand rank
or hail vehicle authorisation referred to in subsection (2) may be suspended
or cancelled under Part 6 Division 4.
