(1) A college is to
have a governing council.
(2) The governing
council of a college is to consist of —
(a) a
chairperson and a deputy chairperson and not less than 6 or more than 10 other
members appointed by the Minister; and
(b) the
managing director for the time being of the college.
(3) The members
referred to in subsection (2)(a) are to be appointed for their experience and
expertise in education and training, industry or community affairs and for
their ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the college.
(4) A member appointed
under subsection (2)(a) is to be appointed for a period not exceeding 3 years
and is eligible for re-appointment.
