(1) The Waste
Authority has all the powers it needs to perform its functions.
(2) Without limiting
subsection (1) the Waste Authority may for the purpose of performing a
function —
(a)
request the Minister to seek information on matters related to this Act from
any other Minister and, on receipt of that information, to give it to the
Waste Authority; and
(b)
obtain the advice of persons having special knowledge, experience or
responsibility in regard to any matter related to this Act; and
(c)
consult and collaborate with appropriate entities, whether or not in the
State; and
(d)
conduct, commission, promote and support research into resource efficiency,
waste avoidance and resource recovery and any other matter related to this
Act; and
(e)
publish reports relating to any matter arising under this Act, including
reports on the Waste Authority’s findings, advice, considerations and
recommendations; and
(f)
provide information to the public on any matter related to this Act.
