(1) Where the Minister
is satisfied that any Commissioner is incapacitated by illness, absence, or
other sufficient cause, from performing the duties of his office, the Minister
may appoint a person to be an acting Commissioner to act for that Commissioner
during his incapacity and that person, while he so acts, —
(a)
shall be deemed to be a Commissioner; and
(b)
shall be paid such remuneration, travelling and other allowances as the
Minister may determine from time to time.
(2) The Minister may
at any time terminate the appointment of an acting Commissioner.
(3) No appointment of
an acting Commissioner and no acts done by him as such shall in any
proceedings be questioned on the ground that the occasion for his appointment
has not arisen or had ceased.
