Western Australian Current Acts Western Australian Current Acts (1) If the office of a
member becomes vacant because the member’s term of office expires by
effluxion of time, the member must be taken to continue to be a member during
that vacancy until the date on which the vacancy is filled (whether by
reappointment of the member or appointment of a successor to the member).
(2) Subsection (1)
ceases to apply if the member resigns or is removed from office under
section 15.
(3) The maximum period
for which a member must be taken to continue to be a member under this section
after the member’s term of office expires is 3 months.
