(1) Notice of the time
and place at which a party to the dispute is required to attend a meeting with
the conciliation officer is to be given to the party in accordance with the
conciliation rules.
(2) Notice of the time
and place for a conciliation conference is to be given in accordance with the
conciliation rules —
(a) to
each party to the dispute; and
(b) if
the conciliation officer considers that it is appropriate in the circumstances
for another person to receive notice of the conference: to that other person.
(3) If a person,
including a party, to whom notice has been given in accordance with the
conciliation rules fails to attend a conciliation conference, the conciliation
conference may be held in the absence of that person.
(4) The failure of a
party to attend before the conciliation officer when required to do so does
not prevent a direction that affects the party from being given under
section 182K or 182L.
