(1) In this section
—
document includes any written notice or decision;
give includes serve, send, issue and notify.
(2) A document that is
authorised or required by this Act to be given to a person may be given by any
of the following methods —
(a)
delivering the document to the person personally;
(b)
leaving the document for the person at the person’s last known principal
place of residence or ordinary place of business;
(c)
sending the document by post to the person’s last known principal place
of residence or ordinary place of business;
(d)
sending the document by email to an email address specified by the person for
giving documents under this Act;
(e) any
other method to which the person agrees for giving documents under this Act;
(f) any
other method (including electronic means) prescribed by the regulations.
(3) The regulations
may make provision for or in relation to the time at which a document that is
given by a particular method is taken to have been given.
