(1) An electric fan,
other than ceiling fans, in any area of a public building to which members of
the public have access shall be installed in a permanent position and so that
the blades of the fan are —
(a) not
less than 2 000 mm above floor level; and
(b)
protected by a robust guard.
(2) A ceiling fan in a
public building shall be installed so that the blades are not less than
2 400 mm above the floor level unless the blades are protected by guards
that prevent accidental contact with them.
