(1) The occupier of a
cinema, licensed premises or any other public building specified for the
purposes of this regulation by the local government, shall within the time
specified in writing by the local government formulate written arrangements
(an emergency plan ) for the emergency evacuation of the public building.
(1a) An emergency plan
shall —
(a)
satisfy the relevant requirements of Australian Standard AS
3745:1995 — Emergency Control Organization and Procedures for
Buildings; and
(b)
incorporate a risk management plan that has been developed in accordance with
AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009.
(2) An occupier shall
submit an emergency plan for approval by the local government.
(3) Where the local
government so directs an emergency plan shall be amended in accordance with
the directions so given.
(4) An occupier of a
public building shall at such intervals as are specified by the local
government carry out rehearsals of the emergency plan approved in relation to
the public building.
