(1) Except as provided
in regulation 54, if a party wants to serve a document on a natural
person the party must do so in accordance with this regulation.
(2) A document may be
served by delivering it to the person personally.
(3) Any document
except a witness summons may be served —
(a) if
an address for service has been provided under regulation 52(1), by
delivering it, or sending it by pre‑paid post, to that address; or
(b) if
no address for service has been provided under
regulation 52(1) —
(i)
by leaving it at the person’s usual or last known
place of residence with a person who, on reasonable grounds, is believed to be
over the age of 16 years; or
(ii)
if the person is the principal of a business, by leaving
it at the person’s usual or last known place of business with a person
who, on reasonable grounds, is believed to be in charge of the business;
or
(c) in a
CIPPLSL case, by delivering it, or sending it by pre‑paid post, to the
person’s address last known to the Board.
(4) A document may be
served on the person by email or fax under Division 2.
