(1) When conducting a
review, the review officer —
(a) may
adopt the procedures the review officer considers appropriate; and
(b) is
not bound by the rules of evidence but may inform themself in any way the
review officer considers appropriate.
(2) The review officer
may, by written notice, require a person to appear before the review officer
at a specified time and place to answer questions or to produce material, or
both.
(3) A person must not,
without reasonable excuse, refuse or fail to comply with a requirement under
subregulation (2).
Penalty for this subregulation: a fine of
$10 000.
