(1) Subject to
subregulation (2), where an application for registration is duly made
under regulation 45B and is accompanied by the prescribed fees the
Department shall issue a certificate of registration for a period of
12 months, which period shall commence on the date shown on the receipt
imprinted on the application.
(2) Where application
for registration of a vessel previously registered under this Part is duly
made under regulation 45B and is accompanied by the prescribed
fee —
(a)
within the period of 30 days immediately preceding the day on which the
registration expires; or
(b)
within the period of 30 days immediately succeeding the day on which the
registration expires,
the Department shall
register the vessel for a period of 12 months and the registration shall
be deemed to be a continuation of the previous registration and to have effect
on and from the day next succeeding the day on which that registration
expires.
