If, while an
interstate prisoner is in this State, the prisoner —
(a)
escapes or attempts to escape from the charge of an interstate escort or from
the custody of a prison, external facility or police lock‑up under
regulation 54R(2); or
(b)
otherwise breaches a condition of the relevant interstate absence permit,
the prisoner may be
arrested, without warrant, by a prison officer, a police officer, the
prisoner’s escort, if any, or a contract worker as defined in the
Court Security and Custodial Services Act 1999 section 3, and taken
to the nearest police station.
